Privacy Policy for Filtored AI Gallery
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Filtored is designed to organize your media with privacy first. By default, processing happens on your device. This policy explains what data is used, where it is processed, and what controls you have.
What Data the App Uses
- Photos and videos in your library that you allow the app to access
- Derived metadata generated by the app (for example: tags, grouping, duplicate/similar clusters, favorites, hidden/trash state, and scan versions)
- Basic technical diagnostics needed to keep features working (for example: scan progress/error logs)
The app does not require account sign-in for core functionality and does not collect contacts, messages, or precise location data.
How Processing Works
- On-device (default): Scanning, tagging, grouping, duplicate/similar detection, and face/object organization run locally.
- Optional server processing: If you explicitly enable server uploads/configure a server, selected photos may be sent to that server for additional analysis. You control this behavior in Settings.
Storage and Retention
- On your device: The app stores its metadata locally so features like search, organize, hidden, and trash work quickly.
- Trash: Items you remove via organize flows are moved to trash and can be restored until permanently deleted.
- Optional server: If enabled by you, storage/retention on that server is controlled by that server's operator and configuration.
Sharing
- By default, your media is not shared with third parties.
- If you turn on optional server processing, data is shared with the server you configured.
Permissions and Controls
- Media permission: Required to read/organize photos and videos.
- Notification/foreground status (platform-dependent): May be used to show scan progress while long scans run.
- Hidden/Safe: Sensitive items can be placed in hidden storage protected by device authentication where supported.
- Reset controls: You can clear tags/rescan and disable optional server usage at any time in Settings.
Security
If you use optional remote processing, use trusted infrastructure and HTTPS where possible to protect data in transit.
Children's Privacy
Filtored is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as features evolve. The "Last updated" date will reflect the latest version.
